Undergraduate Physics Labs

Department of Physics and Astronomy

Second Quarter

The second quarter of the undergraduate physics labs includes experiments covering the topics of electrostatics, magnetostatics, DC and AC circuits, time-varying fields, and Maxwell's equations. Since we cannot see electrons, most students have more difficulty with electricity and magnetism than they do with mechanical motion.

A total of nine experiments will be performed during the quarter as specified by the lab schedule.

The course policies and procedures are detailed in the syllabus.

Northwestern University's CANVAS course management system will provide students with access to updated course documents and the student's status and progress as time passes, the student submits his/her work, and the work is evaluated.
