title: Ripple Tank
aka: Sound Source from Tibet

Description:
Hold each cymbal by its leather cord and strike one against the other on their edges.  The vibrating parts produce beats as the waves undergo constructive and destructive interference.  Listen for the rise and fall of the wave reinforcement then change the distance between the two cymbals and hear how the beat changes.
Try dampening one of the cymbals with a small piece of tape.

Question:
   How are the beats produced?

Would this work on the moon?
