A set of tubes cut to length to sound a C diatonic scale then struck against another object (lecturer's head works well). High C and low C are about 2:1 in length.
When open at both ends the tubes are half wave resonators. When the black cap is attached to one end, it bcomes a quarter wave resonator, and the tone drops an octave.

What is the length ratio for the G tube (the fifth)?
